Loved following the behind the scenes process over at JCrew’s new(ish) Tumblr. I’ve long been a fan of the Madewell blog, and frequently use it as a best-in-show example when I’m consulting, so i’m excited to see what happens to the JCrew sister site. FW13 took inspiration from Morocco and prep-ified it, which here means using sumptuous fabrics and some interesting micro-prints.

New Year, Big Changes

Happy New Year everyone! Adam and I are just back from a 5 day ski weekend with a few of our nearest and dearest. What did you all get up to? On the drive home yesterday, I had some time to reflect on 2013. This year is going to be one of change for me. For starters, we’re putting our house on the market. We’ve lived in Park Slope for 5 years now and both me and Adam are beyond sorry to say goodbye! On the other hand, I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds for us.

And I have to confess, I’m already thinking of the redecorating that I’ll get to do once we settle in to our new pad. Love these inspiration images (as per usual) on Lindsay from Pursuit of Style’s site.

Is there a designer that better encapsulates all three of the season’s major trend moments: winter florals, digitized prints and colored lace? Erdem designer, Erdem Moralioğlu, nails the balance with his particular brand of demure restraint. Would you expect any less from someone who once said his rebellious streak was of the “lace and tulle” variety?
